We have our updated building and design plans in the hands of our local public health department, awaiting their final approval. Once received, we’ll then be able to re-approach the Town of Dillon for their approval to be re-zoned for education. We are hoping (and praying!) the work we have completed up to this point will suffice in the eyes of the Town to not require us to go through the re-zoning process again, which could take an additional 60 days.
We have managed to fundraise money to cover rent on our space through the end of this year, which has been a blessing and has elongated our ability to fight and work on getting MHA operational again. We will be needing to fundraise for construction (once approved) and for rent until we are able to be operable, but right now we’re celebrating our progress in getting this far and continuing to pray for an expedited end of this process with the Town of Dillon. Patience is such a hard practice for me, and seeing the baby steps (while comforting that we’re still moving forward) seems frustrating that we have been in this process for a long six months with no significant progress. A verse comes to mind (there are many! but this one is resonating right now) that I have been constantly repeating, reminding myself God’s timing and His plan is always perfect.
Be joyful in hope, Patient in affliction, Faithful in prayer
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
